2007 Society for Catholic Liturgy Conference Details

[The Society for Catholic Liturgy is hosting its 2007 Liturgical Conference at the Pontifical College, Josephinum, in Columbus, Ohio from Sept. 20th-23rd.

This year, the SCL has added a feature of two tracks for the conference. One is a more academic track, and the other more oriented towards a hands-on pastoral angle for parish priests and staff.

What follows is "Track I" or the academic track. There are a number of recognizable names, not the least of which the NLM's very own Matthew Alderman will be presenting a paper at this conference on his own speciality of sacred architecture. The conference looks to be excellent, so I would heartily recommend that people consider saving their pennies for the (quite reasonable) costs of the conference.

The full conference schedule with details of Mass and the Divine Office, meal and accomodation options, can be seen here in PDF format.

Each year, I like to try to get to at least one liturgical conference, both for reasons of the papers presented at it, as well as the good liturgy and fruitful discussions and collaborations that can result from such conferences.

This year, I've determined that this will be the liturgical conference I will go to. Therefore, it is also for that reason that I hope I will see others of you there as well.

Other Catholic bloggers or writers, please consider spreading the word about this conference and help promote it.]
