Papal Liturgy of the Word

The Holy Father is celebrating at the moment a Liturgy of the Word on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Community of Saint Egidio at the Church of St. Bartholomew-in-the-Island. This is the first time that the white Easter mozzetta is worn for a liturgical celebration, together with the white papal stole (this particular one being a stole of Benedict XV), last seen in the pontificate of Paul VI.







Lighting a candle for the Martyrs of the 20th and 21st century, to whose memory the Basilica of San Bartolomeo all'Isola is dedicated since the Great Jubilee of 2000 and on whom the pope's sermon centered:
