Requiem Mass (Usus Antiquior) in the Cathedral of Siena

Approximately two weeks ago, I wrote here of a requiem Mass being offered in the historic cathedral of Siena on Saturday, April 12th in the ancient form.

I'm pleased to report that the NLM successfully managed to solicit pictures for our readership from two of the gentlemen taking part in this liturgical occasion.

(A rare view inside the Siena sacristy)

(The chapel in the Siena Cathedral where the Mass occured)

(The Poor Knights of Christ)

(You'll note the deacon is a religious, noted by his use of cowl rather than biretta)

(Also note the tonsure)

There will be more photographs coming my way from after the point of the homily, so expect to see more soon.

In the meantime, you may wish to view the full photo gallery up to this point.
